Growing up in Jefferson Missouri, there is not a lot of artistic inspiration. I was inspired by the Sunday Comics. I remember I used to cut Calvin and Hobbes out of the newspaper and put the pieces into a photo album!
With a family that has always lived no more than fifteen minutes away from each other, getting out of a small town isn’t easily done. I got my first degree in fine art at the local University. Once I graduated, I didn't know what to do, but I knew it wasn't in Missouri.
In an effort to open my eyes to all those possibilities I hear so much about on television, I took a cross country road trip with a lifelong friend to the west coast. By the end of the trip, everything had changed. I saw first hand some of the endless differences the rest of the country had to offer and learned to look farther than I can see. I made my decision to be the first in my family that would further his education far away from home on my own.
So I moved to Emeryville California to get my second degree in animation and visual effects. Now I'm a successful Illustrator working out of the beautiful city of San Francisco.

I love this one, dude. So much mood and attitude in it, with great anatomy and well-distributed mechanics. Thumbs up!
